Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bukola Ikuomola has called on society to stop reducing women to their sexuality, saying she admires those known for their intellect and real achievements rather than what they flaunt online.

Speaking in a chat with Potpourri, the actress popularly known as MZNicollet said the constant focus on women’s bodies misses the point.

“There is more to women than sexuality. I admire women who are known for their intellect and other great achievements,” she said.

The Ondo State-born star, who also has Urhobo roots in Warri, Delta State, has been acting since she was young. A graduate of Novena University in Ogume, Delta State, she also runs Nickiscollections as its chief executive officer. She has poured time, effort and scarce resources into building her craft and counts collaborations with veterans such as Saheed Balogun, Jobola Dabo, Ayo Mogaji and Muyiwa Ademola among her memorable experiences.

Ikuomola is proud of producing her debut film, Enemy Within. She prefers roles that show strength and determination, though she says her versatility lets her take on different characters with the same passion. Looking ahead, she wants to become a megastar with an international profile that stretches beyond Nollywood.

On relationships, she was equally direct. She values respect and a good sense of humour in a man and prefers that men make the first move. Past experiences, however, have changed her priorities. She said she gave a lot in earlier relationships and still ended up feeling taken advantage of.

“Now I go for money. And if love comes with it, I grab it too,” she said, adding that love becomes sweeter when money is involved.

The comments sit against a longer public record in which Ikuomola has spoken about sex as a natural part of wellbeing while also stressing personal principles. In 2024 she said people should stop treating sex as mysterious and noted that she sells products in that space. She has previously rejected unethical roles and criticised explicit scenes on reality television, saying she would not compromise her integrity for money.
