Former Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Mercedes, whose real name is Ijeoma Emi, has made a raw and emotional public plea to Mavin Records boss Don Jazzy for help securing her own accommodation. The content creator and pole dancer turned to the music executive after he announced he was sharing “Don’s blessings” and a “small El nino” with select people.

In a detailed post on X, Mercedes painted an honest picture of life after the reality show.

“People may see the exposure and assume I’m living my dream, but behind the scenes, I’m trying so hard to rebuild my life. I don’t even see myself as a celebrity. I’m just a young woman trying to find her place in the world,” she wrote.

She explained that she does not always feel safe or comfortable in her current living situation and desperately wants a place of her own.

Mercedes linked her housing struggles directly to her career. As a pole dancer, she currently practises on an outdoor balcony because the ceiling in her home is unsuitable for mounting a pole indoors. Weather conditions regularly interrupt her training sessions.

“Having a place of my own where I could safely install my pole, practise consistently, create content and develop my craft would mean the world to me,” she stated.

She stressed that her request was not about luxury.

“Sir, I’m not asking for a luxury lifestyle. I’m asking for a chance to stand on my own feet, feel safe, and reconnect with the woman I know I can become.”

The former housemate, who was among the early evictees from the Show Ya Self season earlier this year, later shared her bank details in a follow-up post as part of the appeal. Fellow Season 11 housemate Bluethopia and other users responded with encouragement, with some calling on Don Jazzy to respond to her sincerity. The post has drawn widespread attention, highlighting the challenges many reality TV stars face once the cameras stop rolling and the spotlight begins to fade.

Mercedes’ open vulnerability has sparked conversations about the gap between the glamorous image of BBNaija and the practical realities of rebuilding life afterward. Supporters have praised her courage in speaking out, while the appeal continues to circulate as fans wait to see whether the Mavin boss will step in.
