Davido’s longtime logistics manager, Israel DMW, has pushed back hard against circulating claims that the Afrobeats star is secretly working with the All Progressives Congress, insisting the reports are fabricated and that his boss has turned down large sums to stay aligned with ordinary Nigerians.

In a social media post that spread rapidly on October 18, Israel addressed the rumours directly.

“Dearest Nigerians, kindly disregard the useless rumours going around that Oga has been secretly or currently working for the APC. They are totally fabricated lies meant to drive social media traffic. His earlier stance remains,” he wrote.

He went further, claiming Davido has repeatedly refused major financial offers tied to political endorsements.

“Oga has rejected several million dollars to endorse any presidential candidate. He keeps saying he would be with Nigerians, who are going through a lot, and that he would never betray them. What else don’t Nigerians want again?” Israel added.

The defence comes amid heightened scrutiny of Davido’s political positioning. Days earlier, his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, formally backed President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, a move that drew criticism online from some who had supported the Adeleke family in previous contests. Davido has previously stated that his uncle’s choice does not automatically bind him and that he has not settled on a preferred candidate for 2027, while noting past support for different parties tied to family connections.

Israel’s own recent posts have shown a clear preference for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, arguing that northern leadership has served the country better and dismissing ambitious vote targets for the APC in Edo State.

As of publication, Davido has not issued a fresh public statement specifically addressing the latest APC rumours or the claim about rejected endorsement offers. Israel’s post has drawn mixed reactions, with some accepting the clarification and others demanding the singer speak for himself.
