Nollywood actor Laide Olabanji has ignited fresh online debate with a raw Instagram video in which he delivers a scathing verdict on the current administration’s first term. The veteran Yoruba thespian, known for his outspoken style, told supporters of the government that a poor performance so far makes any push for a second term unnecessary and harmful.
In the emotional clip that quickly spread across social media on October 12, 2026, Olabanji painted a picture of nationwide hardship.
“You guys whose first term is this bad, what do you need a second term for? You people don’t need second term because you’ll simply continue making Nigerians suffer. You don’t need to come back again. Nigeria is bleeding, Nigerians are suffering, there’s hunger in the country, people are crying,” he declared.
He pointed out that even many of the administration’s own supporters have been reduced to begging on the streets and online.
The actor accused the government of misplacing priorities.
“The money you’re supposed to use on better things in the country like fuel subsidy, you’re spending it out to your supporters and the data boys,” he said.
Olabanji then drew a sharp contrast with Abia State Governor Alex Otti, noting that Otti no longer needs to campaign because his record of good governance speaks for itself and has left his people content. He urged Yoruba people in particular to stop supporting leaders simply because of shared ethnic background when those leaders are responsible for worsening living conditions.
“I won’t beg you anymore because your choices will affect you too,” he concluded.
