MC Fish’s partner, Gbemso, says she asked for a dinner with him and his ex-wife, Anita Joseph, at the start of their relationship so she could be sure the past was truly closed. She made the claim during a live session with Daddy Freeze.
The idea, she said, came from the experience of a family member.
“I wanted to have dinner because I have a brother, or like an uncle, whose marriage also crashed, and he was able to remarry. And before he remarried, his wife said, ‘I want to have dinner with you and the ex-wife. I need to be sure that everything is okay.’ And I suggested it.”
When that table never happened, she chose the opposite of a public takeover.
“And I’m like, okay, if that will not work, no problem. I’m going to stay hidden until you are done with that phase.”
She told Freeze she has been with MC Fish for almost a year and stayed out of sight for much of that time because of the noise around his split from the actress.
Gbemso also tried to reset how her earlier clapbacks were read. She said she did not set out to shade Anita. The line she would not ignore was a blog dragging her child into the story.
“I do not have any problem with her. But my daughter was brought into it at some point. That was very, very sad for me, because even when I should have come out and put my daughter’s picture everywhere and fight and bring down the person that also caused me pain too, I didn’t do it. I kept my daughter’s picture hidden, and it really hurt me so much. That’s why I had to answer.”
She said the reply was aimed at the blog. Anita, she added, later took it as a shot at her.
“My mental health is not like I’m strong or anything. I’m the most playful person, but when I panic, when I’m replying, I’m panicking. I’m like, okay, how is this issue okay? I’m not standing from the point of love. I’m standing from a point of, do you guys not actually care for the mental health of the other person?”
The marriage Gbemso walked into the aftermath of ended in public in December 2025, when Anita confirmed it was over. MC Fish and Gbemso went public in February 2026. Since then the timeline has been ugly in short bursts: online jabs, a July cease-and-desist letter from Anita’s lawyers, and fresh posts this week about debts and an “Odogwu.”
