Nollywood actress Damilola Oni has opened up about why she remains single even though men keep making advances at her.
In recent comments, she said attention is not the same thing as compatibility, and that much of what she receives is too nasty to take as a serious approach.
“The fact that they make advances at me doesn’t mean they are my spec,” she said.
According to her, the interest that follows her online often has nothing to do with knowing her and everything to do with what men think they saw on television. She said her direct messages and comment section are regularly filled with explicit talk from male admirers.
“I get a lot of messages in my DMs and even in the comment section saying a lot of nasty things. Some will say they got aroused while watching me on TV and they started masturbating. These messages come in regularly, but I always ignore them.”
She has described the same pattern before, including unsolicited nudes and men who claimed they used her TV appearance as fuel. She ignores the filth and does not treat every advance as a valid match.
