Evicted Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Gerard Adebija has opened up on the part of the house that wore him down the most: deciding who was a real friend and who was only playing the game.
In an interview with TheCable Lifestyle, the actor and on-air personality said life inside the Show Ya Sef house became a constant test of judgment. Private talk felt safe one minute, then returned as ammunition the next.
“Just finding when to draw the line between genuine friendship and strategy. In the house, you never really know who is for you and who is against you, who is plotting and who is not,” he said.
He added that the danger sat inside the easiest conversations.
“It is a challenge; sometimes the conversation can be so good that you are almost tricked into believing that you can confide in a person or say certain things, but oftentimes, they are just going to use it against you later on. It was a battle of knowing what to say.”
Gerard left the house last Sunday, September 6, as the eighth housemate evicted after pulling the lowest votes of the week. He had entered the season on July 26 among 24 contestants chasing a record N160 million grand prize, the biggest payout since Big Brother Naija began in 2006.
Before eviction, he came close to Head of House more than once, including a Week Six final-round loss to Abi. Viewers also followed his house romance with Kamsy, a pairing he has since said moved faster than he wanted and should not define him now that cameras are off. He has said they have spoken and remain on good terms.
That tension followed him out of the house. Some viewers said they barely saw him across six weeks. Others locked onto the romance and ignored the rest of his game.
