The mother of late Nollywood actress and content creator Nimmy Ferrari has broken down in a viral video, pleading with Nigerians to stop her daughter’s paternal family from disturbing the young star’s burial place.

Nimmy, whose real name was Adesanya Nimota Omotolani, died at 26 just days before the planned housewarming of her newly completed home in Sagamu, Ogun State. She was buried at that same property over the weekend. Reports have linked her death to complications after fibroid surgery, but her family has not released an official medical statement confirming the cause.

Days after the burial, her mother alleged that Nimmy’s father’s relatives now want the body moved because they intend to sell the house. She said she already has a home of her own and has no interest in the property.

“Nigerians, please help me! Nimmy’s father’s people are saying we shouldn’t bury her in her house. I gave birth to five children for her father. Nimmy was the last one alive and they’ve killed her,” she said, speaking through tears.

She went further:

“My child was in the hospital and I didn’t see any one around to support. Her father didn’t drop a dime. He didn’t sponsor her education, I did. I took her out of her father’s house when she was little. Her father once injured my head because of her school fees,” she said.

She said she allowed the burial on the Sagamu compound so her daughter’s name would not vanish. Nimmy had no children.

“She does not have children, so her legacy will not be lost. That’s why I instructed them to bury her there. I have my own house; there is nothing I want to use Nimmy’s house for. Help me, they want to sell the house off.”

The mother also alleged that Nimmy’s father recommended the doctor in Abeokuta.

“Her father was the one who recommended the doctor in Abeokuta. They obviously knew how it’d end. I took my daughter there healthy and brought back her dead body,” she said.

She revealed a plan to remove Nimmy’s body from the property so they could sell it.

“They’re saying they want to exhume her body from her own house so they can sell her house. All her friends, please come to my rescue, don’t allow Nimmy be ridiculed.”

Fans had already been mourning a rising Yoruba-screen talent whose credits included films such as World Famous, Olowosile and Omo Agba. The new video has turned private family pain into a public fight over a grave, a house and a daughter who never got to open her front door.
