Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri Ezerika has shut down viral reports claiming she died in an accident, posting a video on Sunday, September 6, 2026, to prove she is alive and safe.
The mother of two said she woke up to find several accounts pushing the lie. She asked fans not to argue with the posts, but to report the pages at once.
“Hey guys, please note that I’m alive. I did not have no accident. I’m safe,” she said in the video.
She added that about seven or eight accounts were created just to package the rumour as content.
“If you see any of those pages that are carrying this terrible news, because I woke up and somebody created seven to eight accounts just to make content like this. While I don’t know what I’ve collected from you people’s hand, I please beg each and every one of you that ever comes across any news like this to please help me report the page. They know that nothing happened to me and they decided to spread this rumour. Just please, I beg you in the name of God, help me report the page. Just one click, one report, that’s all I require from you. Don’t even bother trying to debunk the news, just report the page.”
Her written caption carried the same plea.
“I AM ALIVE!!! Please help me report PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU HELP ME REPORT IT!!!! Any page that carries such news. I’m really sad at the extent some people will go on this social media space to hurt and wish death on another person. I stay on my lane. Leave me alone. I beg you all. It’s really becoming tiring and sad.”
Ruth Kadiri, who married Mr Ezerika in 2018 and has two daughters, has kept a relatively private family life while remaining active as an actress and producer. There is no verified report of any accident involving her. The rumours appear to have been manufactured for clicks.
