Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is battling stage-four cancer, and his daughters have made emotional public appeals after hospitals allegedly refused to continue treating him.

The 66-year-old Yoruba movie legend, who has starred in over 300 films across a career spanning more than four decades, is said to be in severe pain. His daughters, Lima Taiwo and Kira Taiwo, shared separate tearful Instagram videos appealing for medical help rather than money.

Lima said the family only fully understood the seriousness of their father’s condition about three weeks earlier.

“Hello everybody, good evening. I’m here to ask for help from my daddy. He has cancer and it’s really, really bad. And the hospitals are refusing to treat him. At least, please, give this man a chance. Nobody wants to do anything,” she pleaded.

She added that they are open to any form of treatment.

“Please, I’m begging you. If you know somebody that knows somebody that will be willing to treat him, anything, we’re willing to try anything. We’re not here to ask for money.”

In a particularly emotional moment, Lima said:

“Please, I can’t watch my daddy die. I can’t. I can’t. Please. Please, I’m begging you.”

Kira confirmed the diagnosis is stage four and that chemotherapy has been stopped.

“Hello everyone, I’m here for my daddy. He has cancer and is in stage 4. The hospital is saying that they cannot treat him again, like they can’t give him chemo again.”

She appealed for anyone with knowledge of medical or herbal cancer treatment options to come forward.

“He’s saying that he doesn’t want to die. Please, I’ve never seen my daddy in that kind of pain before,” Kira said.

She also expressed gratitude to Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi), who has been footing some of the medical bills.

The family stressed they are not soliciting funds but seeking hospitals, doctors or specialists willing to take on the case. They urged well-wishers to send direct messages with any useful contacts.

As of the latest reports, no specific hospitals have been named publicly, and there has been no detailed statement on the exact type of cancer or an official update from the actor’s management. Fans and colleagues have begun reacting online with prayers and calls for support for the veteran who remains one of the most recognisable faces in Yoruba cinema.
