Activist VeryDarkMan has accused Wunmi, the partner of late singer Mohbad, of allegedly forging a National Identification Number document in a bid to claim the late artiste’s assets and royalties.
In a video circulating on social media, VeryDarkMan pointed to what he described as a discrepancy between the name on Wunmi’s international passport and details linked to her NIN. He claimed she renewed her passport in 2024, roughly one year and two months after Mohbad’s death in September 2023, with the document valid until 2034 and bearing the name “Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi.”
According to the activist, information he initially received suggested her NIN carried “Aloba Cynthia Omowumi.” He argued that passport and NIN details must match.
“The name on the international passport and the information on your international passport must tally with the information on your NIN. So how come on your NIN, it is showing Aloba Cynthia Omowumi? But on your international passport, it is saying Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi? Something is wrong,” VeryDarkMan said.
He further stated that verification with NIN authorities allegedly returned the name “Cynthia Omowumi Adebanjo.” On that basis, he accused Wunmi of secretly forging an NIN document.
“In order for Wumi to claim Mohbad’s wealth, she secretly went to go and forge a document. This is a very big crime. This girl went to go and forge an NIN,” he alleged.

No official confirmation of document forgery from relevant government agencies has been publicly established in connection with the current claims. Mohbad’s death in 2023 continues to generate public interest, family disagreements over paternity of his son Liam, estate administration, and calls for full accountability. Wunmi has previously rejected some of VeryDarkMan’s earlier narratives and described aspects of his commentary as harassment.
The latest video has sparked fresh online debate, with many calling for proper investigation by the appropriate authorities while urging restraint to allow due process.
