The long-running family and business rift between the Okoye brothers has taken another dramatic turn as Jude Okoye released a detailed video response countering allegations of royalty diversion levelled by his younger brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P).
In the video shared on August 2, 2026, Jude, who managed P-Square for years, systematically addressed claims from Peter’s recent tell-all series. He insisted that several of the issues have already been examined by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and remain before the court.
One of the central accusations was the alleged diversion of a roughly $25,000 royalty payment. Jude presented an email from digital distributor Iroko dating back to 2016. According to him, the payment followed Peter’s own instructions at the time: Peter’s share was to be sent directly to him while the balance for Jude and Paul went into the Northside Entertainment account.
“Peter’s money was sent to him directly… Peter knows this. This has been trashed by the EFCC. We are still in court… How do you explain this?” Jude stated while displaying the receipts.
He also rejected claims that Peter was removed as a signatory to P-Square’s bank accounts, showing what he described as the official bank mandate. On the allegation that it took three and a half months to release the music catalogue’s backend records, Jude said the documents were sent just six days after Peter’s October 2022 request, with download records confirming they were accessed the same day.
Jude further dismissed the claim that over $1.2 million in royalties had gone missing. He insisted all payments were properly documented and that Peter had been receiving dollar royalties since 2012, displaying supporting records.
In a particularly pointed moment, Jude revealed the personal cost of the legal battle.
“You are trying to bait me… You know the court is not going to your favour. Why are you dodging to make appearance in court? For three good sitting now, you have been dodging court. They’ve frozen my account for over two years. For over two years, I can’t travel.”
He accused Peter of missing three court sittings. The matter was last heard on June 17, 2026, and adjourned to September 21, 2026, after Peter’s absence. Jude pointed to a social media post showing Peter had scheduled a performance in Germany around the same period.
Peter had earlier alleged in his video series that royalties belonging to Northside Entertainment were redirected to a company called Northside Music, which he claimed was linked to Jude and his wife without his knowledge. He put the figure of diverted funds at over $1.2 million (and in some accounts up to $1.7 million) between 2017 and 2023.
Jude maintained that he would not discuss matters already before the court beyond correcting what he called deliberate misinformation.
“The facts are already before the court,” he emphasised.
The latest exchange has once again divided fans, with many expressing sadness that the once-celebrated P-Square family continues to air deep-seated financial and personal grievances in public. The court case remains ongoing, and both sides insist the truth will ultimately emerge through the legal process.
