Nigerian singer and entertainer Idowest has rejected the judges’ decision in his celebrity boxing bout against Mr Real, insisting the fight was fixed and that politics has once again entered the sport.
The two musicians faced off on July 31, 2026, at the Chaos in the Ring event held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. The contest, promoted by Balmoral Group Promotions under Dr. Ezekiel Adamu, ended in a draw after an intense exchange that left fans divided.
In a fiery Instagram video posted after the fight, Idowest expressed total disbelief at the outcome.
“First of all, yesterday’s match was rigged because nobody can tell me they haven’t brought politics into boxing. How will someone take those kinds of punches and they’re telling me the match was draw?” he said.
Idowest claimed he dominated the exchanges and that clear evidence of his superiority exists.
“Since that match, we haven’t seen a clip where Mr Real made a clean hit on my face or anywhere. He kept throwing foul punches. And that time he kept pushing me to the ropes, wasn’t that a foul? How’s the match a draw?”
He repeatedly called out the organizers and officials.
“Balmoral, Soso, Mr Adamu, how’s the match a draw? With all the punches I threw from different angles that we can all see, we still haven’t seen a single clip where Mr Real punched me. He didn’t throw a single accurate punch.”
Pointing to the physical damage visible on his opponent, Idowest asked:
“How’s the match a draw when all his body and ears were bleeding. Even one of his eyes is half closed. How’s the match a draw? You guys have added politics in boxing again.”
He further accused Mr Real of continued foul play even after the referee intervened.
“Even when the ref kept asking us to stop, he kept punching me. Weren’t all those ones fouls? You’re now claiming it was a draw after all the pushing and foul play. Is pushing and foul play now part of boxing? After those combo shots I landed on him, you guys are still claiming the match was a draw.”
The Chaos in the Ring card also featured other high-profile celebrity bouts, including Portable versus Charles Okocha. The event generated significant online buzz, with many fans calling for a rematch following Idowest’s strong protest.
“Even if they want a rematch they need to acknowledged the fact that I won that match because this is not even a joke or content I really train so hard for this and invested my time too just for you to declare a clean win Draw? Like wtf this is really painful,” he wrote in the video caption.
