Comedian DeeOne has launched a fierce attack on Afrobeats star Davido for failing to attend or even congratulate his longtime friend and business partner, Soso Soberekon, on his lavish wedding.
The star-studded ceremony took place in Warri, Delta State, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, drawing major names from the entertainment industry. Davido’s absence stood out sharply and sparked the comedian’s angry video.
In the viral clip, DeeOne did not hold back.
“With all the things that Soso has done for David, he’s the one that’s supposed to arrange chairs at that wedding. If you know who David is off camera, you’ll know he’s a very terrible human being. David didn’t attend that wedding and didn’t send anyone to represent him.”
He continued:
“Let’s even assume you were busy, you still couldn’t post ‘happy married life’ to him. The first person to give David a million dollars was someone Soso linked him with. He should come and refute my claim.”
DeeOne accused the singer of jealousy and a pattern of limiting the success of those around him.
“He’s the type of person who doesn’t want people to pass him. He wants you to do well, but not more than him. What’s now the usefulness of Soso working with you?”
The comedian claimed other acts who have worked with Soso showed up, and that the wedding outshone Davido’s own.
“All the other acts he has worked with attended and as God will have it, the wedding was better than David’s wedding. More money was spent there despite the fact that it wasn’t done in Lagos.”
He stressed he was speaking freely without Soso’s prompting.
“Soso didn’t ask me to make this video o, I’m just pointing out observations people are scared to point out. If you weren’t there, you should have somebody representing you.”
DeeOne also linked the alleged behaviour to Davido’s past closeness with Wizkid, saying the relationship soured once Wizkid rose higher. He described Soso as “arguably one of the most influential people in the whole of Africa. More influential than David and Burna.”
The video has drawn mixed reactions. Some agree with the comedian’s observations about loyalty in the industry, while others accuse him of stirring unnecessary drama between friends. Davido has not publicly responded as of the time of this report.
Soso Soberekon, a music executive and CEO of White Lion Global Energy, married Ebiere in a series of ceremonies that included a traditional wedding and a grand reception in Warri that has been widely described as one of the most expensive celebrity events of the year.
