Nollywood actress and content creator Olukemi Niyi-Aluko, popularly known as Diva Gold, has opened up about the role her physique plays in her career while insisting that raw talent and professionalism remain her greatest assets in the competitive entertainment industry.
In a revealing interview with Saturday Beats, the curvy star addressed perceptions that her body, particularly her breasts, gives her an unfair advantage, admitting it helps grab attention but does not guarantee longevity.
“I won’t deny that appearance can attract attention in the entertainment industry, but attention is different from longevity. My body, especially my breasts, may get people to notice me, but my talent, professionalism and work ethic are what keep opportunities coming. I want to be remembered for my performances, not just my physique,” Diva Gold declared.
The actress emphasised authenticity as the secret behind her sustained relevance in an industry driven by fleeting trends. She focuses on consistency and creating content that reflects her true self as an actor and storyteller rather than chasing viral moments.
“Trends may bring attention, but authenticity is what builds a lasting career,” she added.
Diva Gold draws inspiration mainly from real-life experiences, observing people, emotions, and everyday struggles to make her performances authentic and believable. Emotionally heavy roles involving pain, trauma, or loss leave the deepest impact on her, challenging her mentally and highlighting the responsibility of telling honest stories.
On her journey to self-confidence, she revealed it was a gradual process fuelled by experience and self-belief rather than something she was born with.
“Today, my confidence comes from knowing who I am, not from seeking validation,” she shared.
Looking to the future, Diva Gold eyes bigger triumphs, including challenging lead roles, producing major projects, collaborating internationally, and establishing a production company with global influence.
As a woman in Nollywood, she described the industry as rewarding yet demanding, requiring extra effort to overcome stereotypes and unrealistic expectations.
“I’ve learnt to set boundaries, stay professional, and let my work speak for itself,” she noted.
