Fashion designer and close friend Yomi Casual has poured out his pain in an emotional tribute to the late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, describing him as a brother and lifelong friend whose sudden death has left an irreplaceable void in his life.
In a deeply moving post shared after the actor’s burial in Arochukwu, Abia State, Yomi Casual bared his soul while celebrating the strong bond they shared for over 15 years. Yomi Casual wrote:
“It is with a heavy heart that I write this tribute to my dear friend and brother, Alex Ekubo. For over 15 years, Alex was more than a friend to me — he was family. We shared dreams, laughter, victories, challenges, and countless memories that created a bond stronger than words can describe.”
He described Alexx as “a rare gem: a trusted adviser, a teacher, a loyal friend, and a brother in every sense of the word.”
Yomi Casual expressed deep regret over not spending enough time with his friend during his final days:
“It hurts deeply knowing I didn’t spend your last days on earth with you.”
The designer highlighted how Alexx’s friendship went beyond the ordinary, noting the actor’s ability to connect deeply with people around him. He recalled how Alexx remained positive and supportive even while silently battling metastatic kidney cancer.
This latest tribute adds to the outpouring of love from the Nollywood community following Alexx Ekubo’s passing on May 11, 2026. Yomi Casual, alongside IK Ogbonna and other close friends, has been visibly devastated throughout the funeral rites, with many noting that the trio shared an unbreakable brotherhood long before fame.
