The Nigerian entertainment industry continues to reel from the painful loss of actor Alexx Ekubo, with close friends and colleagues releasing deeply moving tributes that reveal the kind, selfless man behind the camera even as he battled terminal illness in silence.

Media personality Denrele Edun shared the last voice note the late actor sent him, expressing shock that Alexx still found strength to comfort others while carrying heavy burdens.

“This is the last Voice-Note ALEXX sent me. And that’s the part I’m struggling with. Because while he was carrying battles I knew nothing about, he still found the strength to reach out and comfort me. That’s who ALEXX was.”

He recalled meeting Alexx in 2010 during the Mr Nigeria pageant and working with him on a film in Port Harcourt late last year, where the actor, though frail, lifted everyone’s spirits with jokes and positivity. Denrele ended on a hopeful note:

“Today, they lay my friend to rest. And somewhere, I choose to believe Goldie has already found him. The music is loud. The laughter is endless. And they’re both dancing.”

Socialite Cubana Chief Priest, who attended the burial in Arochukwu, Abia State, used the moment to deliver a strong life message while calling on Alexx to intercede from the other side. In his post, he wrote:

“Live Your Life To The Fullest, The World Stops For Nobody, Make Sure Every Moment Counts. Good Night My Brother, My Friend, My Chief @alexxekubo. It Was Nice Stepping Into The Great Kingdom Of Arochukwu Today To Honour You… I Know You Are Now In A Better Place. Intercede For Us, Your Guys.”

Veteran actress Rita Dominic also penned a touching note, expressing disbelief at the loss of such a young talent in his prime. She wrote:

“It’s heartbreaking to see a young person in their prime taken from us too soon. I struggle to comprehend it and truly refuse to accept it. Rest in peace, dear Alex. May you find comfort among the angels. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones.”

These heartfelt messages capture the profound impact Alexx Ekubo had on those around him. He was a vibrant, caring, and resilient soul whose light continues to shine through the memories he left behind. As the industry mourns, his friends’ words serve as both tribute and reminder of life’s fragility.
