Popular comedian and content creator Carter Efe has dramatically called out music legend D’Banj and promoter Sunday Are, accusing them of staging a fake car gift for clout while demanding he pay ₦65 million before handing over the vehicle.
The drama began when videos circulated online showing D’Banj surprising Carter Efe with a brand new car during his 46th birthday celebration. The moment went viral, with many praising the “Kokomaster” for supporting young talents.
However, in a heated video response, Carter Efe debunked the narrative, claiming the much-celebrated gift was nothing but a staged stunt with no substance.
“He didn’t give me any car. That car you guys are seeing online that he gave me is audio o. He told me to pay 65 million naira before he could give me the car.”
He drew comparisons with past genuine gestures he received, particularly from Kcee, who gifted him a car for free.
“Me that KCee gifted a car for free. If I swear for D-banj and Sunday Are, they might not see tomorrow.”
Carter Efe further claimed that Sunday Are pretended to advise him while actually trying to stop him from exposing the alleged plan.
“Sunday Are too was doing as if he was advising me whereas he was just cajoling me not to spoil their plan. I didn’t beg you to give me a car, you called me to tell me you wanted to give me one, not knowing it’s fake.”
D’Banj and Sunday Are are yet to issue public responses to the allegations as of press time.
