Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has thrown the Mohbad death investigation into fresh turmoil after releasing alleged WhatsApp chats linked to the late singer’s widow, Omowunmi Aloba (Wunmi), who reigniting passionate calls for a thorough re-investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The actor, who has been at the forefront of the justice campaign for Mohbad (Ilerioluwa Imole Aloba), shared screenshots of the purported private conversations on his Instagram page. In the alleged messages, Wunmi is said to have expressed fear that damaging truths could emerge and reportedly admitted to regretting pushing her husband.
Yomi Fabiyi wrote in his caption:
“This is Omowunmi Cynthia Adebanjo (Mohbad’s fiancée) in October 2024, secretly discussing and confessing to one of her online paid criminal agents and cyberbullies. She confessed to pushing Mohbad.”
The actor backed up his claims with several pieces of alleged circumstantial evidence.
He referenced confessions and statements from Mohbad’s younger brother Aduragbemi Aloba, the singer’s driver, his friend Sodiq Ayobami (Spending), his father, and his mother, all pointing to alleged domestic disagreements before the singer’s death on September 12, 2023.
Fabiyi renewed his demand for the police and relevant authorities to investigate these claims thoroughly, questioning why certain evidence remains shielded.
The released chats and accompanying allegations have already divided netizens, with some hailing Yomi Fabiyi for his persistence while others question the legitimacy of the unverified screenshots.
