Nollywood veteran Emeka Ike has declared war on Lere Olayinka, media aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, threatening decisive action after his personal voter information was allegedly leaked from INEC’s restricted portal.

The actor, who recently contested the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat under the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) and lost, expressed outrage over the exposure of his private data. Olayinka had shared screenshots questioning Ike’s eligibility to contest in Abuja after transferring his voter registration from Imo State to the FCT on May 15, 2026.

In a fiery reaction on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Emeka Ike did not mince words.

“It’s quite shocking, extreme, and it is the height of political rascality for a government officer to access a citizen’s information from the INEC cyber. He is telling every Nigerian that whoever you are, I can pull your information from anywhere and I can do what I want, and that rascality needs to be stopped.”

The actor described the move as a huge insult and slap on every political party and Nigerian, vowing not to let it slide.

“Actions are ready, I’m ready to take him on. He has no right to exploit my privacy and insult Nigerians the way he did. If he has been doing it in the past, this should be the last time he does it.”

Olayinka’s controversial post on X mocked Ike’s political ambition, noting he had only recently transferred his registration and had never voted in the FCT. The attached screenshots reportedly contained sensitive details including Ike’s application number, Voter Identification Number, profile picture, and registration centre — information many claim came from INEC’s administrative backend, not the public portal. The post read:

“Emeka Ike was a registered voter in Imo State. He only transferred his INEC Registration to the FCT on May 15, 2026 (15 days ago). And he wants to contest for House of Reps in Abuja! Someone who has never voted in the FCT o.What happened to his Imo State?”

Emeka Ike explained his decision to contest in Abuja rather than his home state of Imo.

“I actually wanted to run in my state, but a couple of people came to me and told me, ‘Sir, you need to do this now, we need you in Abuja.’”

The incident has sparked widespread outrage over voter data privacy and potential breaches in INEC’s system, raising serious concerns ahead of future elections.

As the drama unfolds, all eyes are on whether Emeka Ike will follow through with legal or other actions against Olayinka and if INEC will address the growing allegations of unauthorized access to its database.
