The Yoruba Nollywood industry has been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden death of popular actor, filmmaker, and comedian Adeshina Okiki, popularly known as Janmole or Okiki Oshin.

According to reports, the talented thespian lost his life in a fatal car accident that claimed him instantly. The sad news broke on Monday, June 1, 2026, sending shockwaves through the entertainment community.

Veteran actor Akin Olaiya shared a video of the accident scene and expressed his sorrow in a heartfelt tribute:

“Inalilahi Wainalilahi Rojihuna. This is sad. Rest in peace, Adeshina Okiki Janmole.”

Mr Latin also offered prayers for the departed colleague:

“May the soul of our departed colleague, Adesina Okiki Janmole, who tragically lost his life in an accident, rest in perfect peace. May God grant his family, friends, and colleagues the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss. He will be greatly missed. Amen.”

Adeshina Okiki was known for his vibrant roles in Yoruba films, bringing laughter and depth to many productions. His passing comes as a painful blow, especially as it follows years after he miraculously survived a serious road accident in September 2022 on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where the vehicle he was travelling in caught fire.

As tributes continue to pour in from across the industry, many are remembering Adeshina Okiki for his talent, resilience, and contributions to Yoruba cinema. His sudden departure serves as a stark reminder of life’s fragility and the dangers that often lurk on Nigeria’s roads.
