Popular Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has sparked conversations after admitting he is increasingly scared of getting married due to the alarming rate of couples separating shortly after their weddings.

The “Oleku” hitmaker opened up during a recent podcast interview with Nevon HQ, revealing how the constant stories of marital failures have made him rethink his timeline for settling down.

“These days I get scared of marriage more and more cause I see people married and in less than a year they want out more, the drama and stress they go through.”

He also touched on financial pressures, noting that many of his friends seek help from him just to fund their weddings.

“I am someone that my friends reach out to beg money to marry and I don’t want to be like that or disturb anybody.”

Despite the fear, the veteran rapper has set a personal target for marriage.

“I am hoping to get married when I’m 40 cause some of my mentors got married at that age. I also have other goals for that age too.”

Ice Prince further disclosed his long-term plans beyond music, saying he intends to pursue education and venture into farming.

“I intend to go to school so bad and also run a farm… I do not see myself actively making music by that age.”

The revelation has triggered mixed reactions online, with some praising him for being cautious and intentional while others argue that fear should not stop anyone from finding love at the right time.
