Nigerian nightlife mogul and socialite Cubana Chief Priest has broken his silence on the long-running tension with Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy, accusing the singer of launching unprovoked attacks on his success and wealth.

In a candid interview on The Beat 99.9 FM, Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, opened up about how their once-cordial relationship soured. He claimed Burna Boy turned on him despite past support, linking the drama directly to his unbreakable bond with Davido.

“I was on my own and he came for me first. He is jealous of my relationship with Davido.”

He recounted how Burna Boy, who once performed at his events in the early days, allegedly used his massive platform to discredit him publicly.

“He went on his big platform and started tweeting things that are not genuine, things that are not possible… The attack was straight to my wealth. He wanted to make people disrespect my wealth.”

The entrepreneur expressed deep hurt over the betrayal, reminding listeners of his role in supporting Burna Boy’s career when he was still building.

“This is the same source that was booking you, this is the same source that was paying you. How all of a sudden you now feel so big to mock or try to bring down something that helped make you?”

He further claimed the conflict escalated because of his close alliance with Davido, who he credits with helping open and support his nightclubs and restaurant.

“David is always there for me. David opened all my outlets, all my nightclub, restaurant, everything.”

Chief Priest revealed that the public spat even motivated him to venture into music as a form of defiance. He released a track produced by Davido to prove he could excel in any field.

“I’m like, I can actually do this your music too. To let you know that I can do anything I want to do.”

Neither Burna Boy nor Davido has publicly responded to the latest claims as of press time. This latest chapter adds fresh fuel to the long-standing undercurrents in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, where personal loyalties and egos constantly collide.
