Nollywood actress and producer Habibat Jinad has shared an emotional story of how superstar actor Odunlade Adekola showed her immense kindness during one of her toughest moments as a producer.
In a recent interview with Jeff Omolewa TV, Habibat recounted struggling financially while producing a movie. She revealed that she had to beg Odunlade to accept just N130,000 for his role. Surprisingly, he accepted the modest fee, showed up, acted his scene, and left.
However, the real drama began when another actor on set learned that Odunlade had already featured in the project.
“Another actor, when he came on set and heard that I had done a scene with Odunlade, changed his behaviour towards me.”
The actor, who had already been paid N80,000, suddenly demanded more money before continuing.
The situation escalated dramatically as the actor drove off.
“I had to pursue his car while pleading with him.”
The stressful experience left her moody the next day on set.
When Odunlade noticed her mood and asked what was wrong, Habibat opened up about her financial challenges. To her greatest surprise, the veteran actor reached into his pocket and gave her N20,000 without asking for repayment.
With a grateful heart, Habibat said:
“Brother Odun, God bless you. If I remember what he did, my heart prays for him.”
She concluded that the entire ordeal strengthened her as a producer.
“All of these built me and made me stronger as a producer.”
The heartwarming story has earned Odunlade widespread praise online, with many commending his humility and generosity toward talents in the industry.
