Nollywood actress Damilola Oni has proudly declared that skin bleaching has never crossed her mind, crediting her unshakeable confidence to the powerful words of affirmation she received from her father while growing up.
In a candid interview with Oyinmomo TV, the rising star opened up about her self-image and the strong foundation her parents built.
“Skin bleaching has never occurred to me. According to Olushola Ajadi, my father, I am the most beautiful girl in the world. My parents set the foundation for my confidence.”
Oni’s revelation comes at a time when body image pressures continue to dominate conversations in the entertainment industry. Her stance highlights a refreshing narrative of self-love rooted in proper upbringing rather than societal standards.
The actress also addressed the growing influence of hype in Nollywood, noting that it often overshadows genuine talent.
“Hype surpasses talent and it can be hurtful. Because at times the people that ought to have excelled and become famous are not the ones we hear about. But if you can hype your craft, you have gained the world.”
Oni emphasised her intentional approach to collaborations, revealing she sets clear boundaries to protect her peace and career.
“The people I work with know what I want and what I don’t want. That is why I don’t pass my boundaries. If I am not sure this individual would give me what I want, I won’t get close in the first place. Because I don’t want trouble. It’s money we spend.”
Her comments have resonated with many fans who applaud her authenticity and strong sense of self. As Damilola Oni continues to carve her path in the industry, her emphasis on confidence, boundaries, and talent over hype positions her as a voice of reason among young actresses navigating fame.
