Nigerian OAP Mayowa’s ex-husband, Roby Ekpo, has dropped a bombshell on The Honest Bunch podcast, revealing he discovered his ex-wife was secretly on contraceptives throughout their 11-year long-distance marriage while he desperately tried to have a child. The 48-year-old father of none says he only learned the painful truth after seeing a private message where Mayowa brutally listed everything wrong with him as a husband.
Roby opened up with raw pain:
“I’m 48 years old, I don’t have a kid. I started going for sperm tests despite being a Calabar man.”
He claimed he later found out Mayowa had been taking contraceptives the entire time.
“I now got to find out that she was taking contraceptives.”
The most shocking part came when he revealed a message Mayowa allegedly sent to someone else. In it, she reportedly wrote that she didn’t even care if he loved her because “what did his love do for me besides stress me.” She complained he wasn’t taking care of her like a man should, wasn’t satisfying her sexually, wasn’t helping her spiritual life, wasn’t spoiling her, wasn’t energetic toward any goal, and was simply “rubbish.” Mayowa allegedly added that she had been coping with unsatisfying sex for almost three years and would “pass” on more of it.
Roby also alleged Mayowa lied about a trip to Miami.
“She traveled to Miami to do BBL after telling me she was going for surgery for something that would be able to make her conceive.”
He said he only recently became aware of the message after seeing her wedding pictures online, which triggered the full breakdown of their already strained long-distance union.
The actor and content creator described how the marriage fell apart once he confronted the issues. He claimed he had been honest and supportive but felt completely disrespected and used. The revelations have left fans stunned, with many calling the situation “devilish” and “wicked,” while others demand to hear Mayowa’s side of the story before picking sides.
