Nollywood actor and producer Olaide Olabanji has issued a heartfelt public safety appeal to residents of Kwara State, asking them to avoid large religious gatherings during this period and instead worship from the safety of their homes. The warning, delivered in a video posted on his Instagram page, comes amid heightened concerns about possible attacks on crowded worship centres across affected states in the country.
Olabanji spoke with urgency and directness, addressing his message to every indigene of the state.
“This video is for every indigene of Kwara State. He that has ears, let them hear because most of you are deaf.”
He singled out specific areas where residents should exercise extra caution.
“Kindly stay away from religious gatherings during this Easter period. Stay in your house, especially those at Omu Aran, Offa, Igbeti, and other places.”
The star emphasised that true worship does not require crowds or special venues.
“You can serve God anywhere. Terrorists mainly target religious gatherings like churches. I beg you in the name of God. You can serve God in the corner of your room. God is everywhere.”
Olabanji’s latest video reflects growing anxiety in parts of Kwara State, where security threats have made public events (especially religious ones) increasingly risky. Many viewers have welcomed the advice as timely and responsible, especially given recent reports of insecurity in the region.
His plea underscores a simple but powerful idea that safety should come first, and personal devotion can thrive anywhere.
