Gospel singer Kehinde Adegbodu, one half of the beloved Adegbodu Twins, has opened up about the heartbreaking last hours he shared with his brother Taiwo before his sudden death on March 1, 2026. In a viral video, Kehinde recounted a seemingly normal Saturday that ended in unimaginable pain.

The twins had followed their daily routine without any hint of what was coming.

“We used to have our night prayer at 9pm everyday. We prayed together at 9pm on Saturday and everyone went to bed.”

Around 10pm, Kehinde stepped into Taiwo’s room to remind him about the next morning’s service.

“At about 10pm, I went to Taiwo’s room to tell him that church service was 10am the next day. He was playing games on his phone and he replied that he would sleep early.”

Those were among the last peaceful words exchanged between the brothers.

Just before 11pm, Taiwo stood at Kehinde’s door, complaining of a sharp pain in his chest. Without hesitation, Kehinde insisted they head to the hospital, which was only five minutes away. The twins left together, never imagining that only one would return home.

Their debut album Faratimi (Lean on Me), released in 1999, became an instant success and introduced their signature harmonious sound to a wide audience. For decades they ministered side by side, their voices and lives so closely intertwined that losing one felt like losing part of himself.

Kehinde’s emotional recount has touched many, reminding listeners of the fragility of life. Though the cause of Taiwo’s passing remains undisclosed, Kehinde’s honest sharing of those final moments has become a source of comfort and reflection for fans who grew up with the brothers’ music.
