Actor Rotimi Salami has shared a deeply emotional tribute as he ushered in the New Year without his close friend and colleague, the late Allwell Ademola.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the Nollywood actor revealed that the New Year celebration felt painfully different this time, after spending the last five years crossing over together under the same roof with Ademola and his family.
“For 5 years consecutively. We cross over to the new year under the same roof. Pray and make wishes together with Thesalamis. This year is different because you are not here,” Rotimi wrote.
The actor said the absence of Allwell Ademola left a noticeable void as the year began, adding that she remains constantly in his thoughts and prayers despite her passing.
In an earlier post, Rotimi openly expressed how heavy the grief still feels, pleading with people not to console him yet.
“Please, when you see me, don’t try to console me. Because I will break down. I still can’t say farewell, Shuga Boo. All is not well at the moment,” he said.
He also shared a short video clip of Riri, a song by Allwell Ademola featuring Indo, which is currently streaming on all digital platforms, describing it as one of the many memories he holds close.

Allwell Ademola, an actress, producer and singer, passed away in December, sending shockwaves across the Nollywood industry. Since her death, colleagues and fans have continued to honour her legacy and celebrate her impact through heartfelt tributes.
Rotimi Salami and Allwell Ademola shared a long-standing friendship that went beyond professional collaborations. Over the years, they were frequently seen together at events and spoke openly about their bond, often describing each other as family.
