Nollywood actress and box office queen Funke Akindele has revealed the value she holds dearest as her latest cinema release, Behind The Scenes, officially crosses the ₦1 billion mark at the box office.
The celebrated filmmaker made the announcement via her Instagram page, confirming that the movie has joined the exclusive list of billion-naira Nollywood films, further cementing her dominance in the Nigerian film industry.
Reacting to the milestone, Akindele credited her success to God and the unwavering support of her fans, describing them as the backbone of her journey.
“Over the years, I’ve always valued my fans, because without God and you, I am nobody,” she wrote. “Thank you all for coming out to watch this movie and for supporting my brand through the years.”
The actress also expressed deep appreciation to her distributors, cast, crew, and colleagues, including those who were not part of the film but showed up to support through meet-and-greet appearances.
“Thank you to the distributors, and especially to my colleagues, including those not in the movie, who still came out to meet and greet my fans,” she added. “Big love to the cast and crew. This is only the beginning. Let’s take Behind The Scenes even further.”
Funke Akindele encouraged fans yet to see the movie to head to cinemas with their family and friends, while also announcing its international rollout.

The ₦1 billion milestone comes shortly after Akindele celebrated 27 years in the Nigerian movie industry, a journey she has often described as a mix of grace, consistency, and hard work.
