The long-running rivalry between Afrobeats giants Wizkid and Davido has erupted again, this time after Wizkid clinched the title of Nigeria’s most-streamed artiste on Spotify for 2025.
Barely 48 hours after the global streaming platform released its year-end data, Bigwiz stormed X with a string of sharp, unapologetic posts that fans immediately interpreted as direct shots at Davido, who has repeatedly positioned himself as the industry’s chart leader.
Wizkid’s first jab came in form of a mocking line referencing earlier claims from Davido and his camp about commercial dominance:
“Dem say album go swallow album, dem dey ground dey smell now!” 😭😭
The tweet instantly sent social media into a frenzy.
But Wizkid wasn’t done.
In a much harsher follow-up post, he wrote:
“Pvssyboys got enough dead ppl in their crew to cry about! Add more tears.”
The Grammy winner continued unleashing coded but aggressive swipes:
“I think say all of una don die finish! Una still remain?”
And then, as though signing off with a victory stamp, he dropped:
“Biggest ❤️🦅”
The posts quickly split the internet, with fans from both sides dragging each other in heated threads, Spaces, and comment sections; reviving the never-ending “who is the real GOAT?” argument.

Many fans also pointed out the timing of the tirade.
Just a day earlier, Davido had publicly criticized the Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor Sanwo-Olu for promoting Wizkid’s upcoming Lagos show, an action many interpreted as Davido reacting out of insecurity, especially after Wizkid’s Spotify triumph dominated the headlines.
Some fans describe the latest exchange as “fuel to an already burning fire,” while others insist Wizkid’s comments were justified celebrations of his milestone. Either way, the Afrobeats war cycle appears far from over.
