A Special Danger To Society — DJ Chicken Faces Legal Action From Ogun Govt Over Multiple Road Accidents

The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has announced plans to prosecute TikTok personality and controversial entertainer, DJ Chicken, following a string of road incidents that have sparked public outrage and renewed calls for safer driving.

DJ Chicken, whose real name is Ademola Abiodun, has been linked to three road crashes within two months, the most recent occurring on Sunday in Lekki, Lagos State. According to eyewitnesses, the entertainer’s car swerved dangerously through a busy stretch before crashing, an incident that reportedly “narrowly missed several pedestrians.”

This latest scare comes barely three weeks after a serious accident in Sagamu on November 1, where Abiodun allegedly rammed into two motorcycles, leaving a rider and a female passenger critically injured.

The government, in a statement released Monday via its official X handle, noted that witnesses claimed DJ Chicken attempted to flee the Sagamu crash site before he was stopped by onlookers.

In a strongly worded announcement, the Ministry of Justice condemned the entertainer’s repeated negligence behind the wheel.

Part of the statement reads:

“Mr Abiodun’s heedless return to the wheel with no greater care just three weeks after makes it imperative that the state must intervene to protect the public, especially as there is an organic outcry against his continued driving.”

The ministry emphasized that while traffic collisions can often be handled as civil issues, situations like this require stronger legal action:

“Some road users are special dangers to society and should be held to account under criminal law.”

To ensure accountability, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed officials to “move quickly on the pending crash case from Sagamu for a prompt arraignment.”

The ministry added that it remains committed to working with law enforcement agencies to curb reckless driving and protect residents across Ogun State.

Meanwhile, reactions online show growing frustration, with many Nigerians calling for DJ Chicken’s license to be permanently revoked, and for his prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others.
