“That Was Painful” — Tiwa Savage Opens Up on Seyi Shay Clash Years After Viral Salon Fight

Nigerian music queen Tiwa Savage has finally opened up about her long-standing feud with fellow singer Seyi Shay, shedding new light on the viral salon confrontation that shook the internet years ago.

Speaking on the Off Air Show with Gbemi and Toolz, the “Somebody’s Son” crooner addressed the root of their conflict, which reportedly stemmed from a diss track and rumors that she tried to block opportunities for other female artists, including Seyi Shay and Victoria Kimani.

Tiwa, however, firmly denied the allegations, saying she has always been committed to supporting women in the industry.

“If you do something to me, I’ll tell you directly, not online. I’m not going to pretend we’re cool when you did a whole diss track about me,” she said.

The singer revealed that the accusations and online tension deeply affected her because she had no idea where they came from.

“That was painful, and I didn’t know where it was coming from. Till today, maybe I need to have a conversation with Shay”, Tiwa added.

This marks one of the few times Tiwa has publicly spoken about the issue, years after the infamous salon video where the two singers exchanged heated words. Her calm tone this time signals a possible end to one of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity feuds.

Meanwhile, fans have taken to social media to react to her recent comments. One fan, @tinaongram, wrote, “Epele aunty Tiwa and aunty Seyi… let bygone be bygone abi bye bye.”

Another, @mariams_modesty, commented, “Ma all of them rest abeg, Nigeria get enough problems already.” While @andreobosi added, “Successful women catching cruise with their life.”

As the conversation continues online, many are simply hoping both singers find closure and continue to shine in their craft.
