Popular Nigerian comedian Bovi has finally opened up on why he and fellow comedian Basketmouth no longer work together.
The two had enjoyed years of stage collaborations before parting ways, sparking speculations among fans.
However, speaking on the OffAir Show with Gbemi & Toolz, Bovi revealed that the decision was purely about personal growth and financial independence.
“Basketmouth and I are cool. Nothing happened. Interests changed. I wanted to focus more and spend more time with my family, and also to elevate myself,” he explained.
Bovi stressed that he no longer wanted to split earnings from shows after collaborations.
“I easily get bored doing something for too long, so I try something else. As you know, I went back to TV because I wanted to build my own brand. When I host shows at Eko Hotels, it fills up. So, why should I go and share money? Why should we be many doing one show?” he asked.
His comments have stirred conversations online. @cruiseship34 reacted, “12 friends can’t play together for 12 years abi how them talk am.”
Another user, @Ozino23, pointed out, “That Eko hotel show statement is all you need to know. If you know, you know.”
Meanwhile, @AlAminJamal007 added, “Basketmouth has issue with everybody, I think he is the problem.”
The revelation adds a new layer to the long-discussed split between the two comedians, highlighting how personal choices and business interests can reshape even the strongest of creative partnerships.
