I am enjoying my life, not living based on societal expectations –Timini Egbuson

When you think of actor, Timini Egbuson words like stylish, talented and flamboyant comes to mind.The outspoken actor who was a guest on the ‘Menisms’ podcast said he is enjoying his life and not living it based on societal expectations.

“I am enjoying my life. I am not trying to live my life based on any sort of age restrictions, or societal expectations. I am just living my life. We will all get old eventually. A lot of credit is not given as much as it should be given”.

Speaking further, Timini who got rave reviews for playing ‘Pere’ in Funke Akindele’s ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ said when he started out, actors were not treated with prestige.

“I am proud of the generation that birthed social media influencing in Nigeria. Now one can make money from social media , one can live a good life from social media influencing. That is different from the acting side of me. I was able to show a lot of actors that you cannot only be an actor. When I started, it wasn’t cool to be an actor. There was no respect, there was no prestige.Ladies in Nollywood have been doing the packaging and dressing up, but the guys didn’t care. They didn’t understand how to.You have to control the narrative, you have to control how people see you . You have to dress like a superstar, because that’s what you are”
