Experts empower emerging event planners
The maiden edition of Toria’s Events’ training for aspiring and emerging event planners was a moment of unparalleled knowledge acquisition for the participants. The three day training which was held in Lagos between 28th -30th of November was organized by Victoria Enwereji creative director, Toria’s Events.
The training focused on the basics of events planning, legal aspect of the business, public relations and other pertinent subject matters.
Kehinde Ajose a Visibility Strategist and the lead visibility strategist at Visibility Solutions Media shared on the costly visibility mistakes event planners make.
According to him:” Seth Godin defined marketing as a contest for attention. Every business is competing for attention. If you don’t pay attention to their business, they cannot make money. One of the errors event planners make is focusing on consumers and not customers. Consumers are your fans on social media, friends and well- wishers who praise you, hail you but don’t buy from you. Your customers are the people who actually pays for your services. Knowing the difference will help you gain clarity in business”.
The convener of the training, Victoria Enwereji added that what makes the difference between successful event planners and average ones is the quality of information they acquire and implement.
Enwereji urged the participants to equip themselves with critical knowledge to help them understand the essence of rendering excellence service and importance of selling their values to customers.
She said, “The event planning industry has a lot of potential that needs to be maximized through the right structures and mechanism. This training is to allow us learn, unlearn and re-learn ways to change the sector with innovations.”
Kemi Dada , Emeka Ugoala, DJ Coal and others were amongst the facilitators at the epoch-making training.
