I wept when Sammie Okposo told me what pastors did to him — Apostle Suleman
President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide Apostle Johnson Suleman has criticised pastors who deserted singer Sammie Okposo in his trying times.
Sammie slumped and died on Friday morning. He was aged 51.
The ‘Wellu Wellu’ singer set the internet on fire early this year when he took to Instagram to apologise to his wife Ozioma after cheating on her with another woman in the United States.
As a result of the scandal, Sammie took some time off from ministration in order to retrace his steps with God.
In a tweet on Friday, Suleman criticised those mourning Sammie but never reached out to him during the difficult moments of his life, adding that love has left the church.
“Now they post his pictures…but never reached out in his trying times,” the clergyman, who has himself been linked with sexual scandal, wrote.
“He told me what pastors did to him and we both wept. Love has left the church. We have more ‘lawyers’ who are ready to judge than intercessors ready to restore. Rest in power my brother. You conquered!” Suleman added.
In May this year, Sammie escaped death by the whiskers in a car accident while driving on Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
