Teni sparks reactions over claims of disrespect while accepting MON
On social media, singer Teni Apata has drawn criticism for allegedly disrespecting President Muhammadu Buhari while receiving her national honour.
On Tuesday in Abuja, at the International Conference Center, the 2022 National Honors Award Investiture took place.
Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) was bestowed upon Teni.
The 29-year-old is seen receiving the award from Buhari in a viral video without shaking hands, which many have interpreted as showing disrespect to the president.

If all the recipients of the award maybe behaved like teni , maybe shame will finally catch this government but no you people must respect anything and anyone older regardless of what they’ve put you through.

If I was Teni, once I reached that stage and collected the award, I would kneek down immediately and clean Buhari’s shoes.
I would not stop there but proceed to donate myself to a lifetime of servanthood.
I must show absolute & total respect! Especially as a woman, you know.
