Alleged $164000 fraud: Obi Cubana reacts to news of his associate, Cubana Prime Minister’s arraignment
Businessman Obi Cubana responded to the EFCC’s arraignment of his associates, Cubana Prime Minister.
Recall that on Wednesday, Lucky Ndukwe, also known as Cubana Prime Minister, an associate of Obi Cubana, was accused of money laundering by the Economics and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Ndukwe, a manager with the Cubana Group, was charged by the EFCC before Justice Justice O.A. Fadipe of the Special Offenses Court in Ikeja, Lagos State. Precious Ofure was additionally charged.
The EFCC claims that during their arrest, items worth $164, 000. 00, iPhone mobile devices, and laptop computers were found on them.
On two counts of conspiracy and money laundering, Justice Fadipe found Ofure guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison, with the possibility of an additional N2 million fine and 100 hours of community service.
The judge ordered all of the items seized from the convict were also forfeited.
Chuks Arubalaeze, the Prime Minister of Cuba’s attorney, informed the court of his client’s request for bail.
He was granted bail in the amount of N5 million with two sureties in the same amount by Justice Fadipe.
In addition, Justice Fadipe mandated that Cubana Prime Minister remain in custody until his bail conditions were fully satisfied and postponed the case’s start date for trial until October 28, 2022.
While reacting to the news posted by a blog on Instagram, Obi Cubana wondered why his photo was included in the reports. He wrote:
“How much did they pay you people to include my photo? I see what you are doing.”
