Nollywood actor and producer Kunle Afod has publicly addressed his separation from his wife, Desola Afod, popularly known as Celeb Wife, months after reports of their marital crisis circulated online.
Speaking in an interview with Kasnasty Sugar on YouTube, Afod confirmed the split widely reported to have occurred in February 2026, when Desola was said to have moved her belongings out of their home. Neither party had spoken directly about the situation until now.
When asked what caused the separation, Afod pointed first to the demands of his career.
“Separation from my wife? This job is heavy to the extent that we sometimes don’t have time for our home,” he said.
He then framed the issues around jealousy and mutual suspicions of cheating, speaking largely in parables.
“To all the women here, my apologies please. I need to beg you guys first before I talk about my separation. Women believe that men cheat but no man can cheat with a tree or wood. Men cheat with women. It’s easier for women to be lesbian than men to be gay,” he continued.
He went further on what he described as double standards.
“So, if you have a wife who is too close to a female friend, the husband will also suspect her. You are in trouble because they cheat more in that level than having it with the opposite sex. It’s easy for a woman to convince her husband to buy her dildo, she will tell you that she doesn’t want to cheat on you. She would buy up to three dildos. Why is she not satisfied with just one dildo? That can also be referred to as adultery too. The same woman that has the confidence to use dildo won’t take it lightly when she caught her husband using sex toys.”
In the same interview, Afod was blunt about his priorities. He said actors love the job more than their wives or partners, and that genuine passion for the work makes it hard for spouses to cope.

The couple, who have four sons (Omiayo, Desire, Imodola and Yiyenitemi), have faced public ups and downs before. In October 2022, Desola posted that she had left Afod; the two later reconciled. Rumours resurfaced in early 2026, though both had pushed back against breakup talk at the time and Afod still publicly celebrated Desola on her birthday later in the year. No formal divorce announcement has been made.
