Nigerian preacher, comedian and content creator Woli Arole has strongly condemned the wave of insensitive social media reactions that followed the sudden death of gospel singer Toluwanisings. In the days after the young artiste’s passing, Arole took to Instagram to call out both prophets who claim they foresaw the tragedy and ordinary users who respond to news of young deaths by declaring they themselves will not die young.

Arole did not mince words about those who rush to post videos claiming prophetic knowledge of the death while families and fans are still deep in mourning.

“I think it is very appalling, annoying and highly STUPID when we use prophecy to justify DEATH. A young man just died, friends, fans and families are still mourning and you’re already doing a video of ‘I saw the death and it has happened’. So what’s the essence; VALIDATION and TRACTION. Nonsense, Rubbish, NONSENSE. Rest on ANGEL!!!” he wrote.

In a second post, the outspoken cleric turned his attention to the common online reaction of “I won’t die young in Jesus name.” He described the phrase as deeply insensitive.

“It’s also insensitive when people start commenting and posting ‘I won’t DIE Young in Jesus name’. Oga who wants to die young before!!!!!. So those that died Young, did they offend GOD. Even Jesus Christ died at 33 years and he lived a fulfilled LIFE. Life is not so much in length it’s in IMPACT. Rest On Angel. You lived WELL!!!. Your memories are with US!!!!!. My greatest joy: You knew JESUS!!!!”

Toluwanisings, whose full name is Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, passed away in the early hours of 14 October 2026. Family members confirmed the news and asked the public to keep his wife and loved ones in prayer. He had reportedly ministered at a concert shortly before his death. Arole had earlier paid a heartfelt tribute describing the singer as an angel whose unique voice brought joy and touched many souls, noting how unpredictable life can be.

The preacher’s latest comments have sparked conversations about how people respond to sudden deaths of young public figures.
