Nigerian dancer and hypeman Poco Lee will now wait until February 2027 to enter a plea in a United Kingdom court after Tuesday’s hearing collapsed over missing paperwork.
Snaresbrook Crown Court adjourned the plea and trial preparation hearing of Iweh Pascal Odinaka to February 8, 2027. The trial itself has been fixed for March 8, 2027. The case came up on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, but the entertainer did not enter a plea. According to BBC News Pidgin, the charge sheet was not available.
“In court, Poco Lee did not appear because the charge sheet was not available. As a result, he did not enter a plea. However, the pre-trial hearing will now take place on 8 February 2027, and he is expected to enter his plea at that time,” the BBC report said.
The same report added:
“The trial has also been scheduled for 8 March 2027.”
The court had earlier confirmed that Poco Lee was granted bail on September 11 after his first appearance. He remains on bail while the matter proceeds. Some Nigerians turned up in support, with reports that the gallery was packed and others waited outside.
UK-based media personality Benjamin Kuti, known as Oluomo of Derby, said he was in court on Tuesday and confirmed the new dates.
“I was in court today, as I mentioned in my last tweet, regarding the case involving one of our Nigerian brothers, Poco Lee. The plea hearing is scheduled for 8th February 2027, and the trial is scheduled to begin on 8th March 2027,” he wrote.
Kuti urged the public to let the process run.
“At this stage, it is important that we allow the legal process to take its course and avoid making assumptions or passing judgment based on allegations or information circulating publicly. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, and that principle must be respected throughout the entire process.”
Poco Lee is facing five sexual offence charges in the UK: attempted rape, two counts of rape, and two counts of assault by penetration. The Crown Prosecution Service had confirmed before Tuesday that the case was still live and that he was due at Snaresbrook for the September 15 hearing. A reporting restriction is in place to protect the complainant’s identity. He has not been convicted. The court has not decided the allegations.
