Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie has opened up about the hidden cost of new motherhood, telling fans she has been living with tenosynovitis, the painful wrist condition many mothers call mum wrist.
Sharing recent photos of herself and her baby boy, she said the last few months have changed her life and that she is still finding her way through it.
“Life lately. A little glimpse of the last few months. So much has changed, and I’m still finding my way through it all. To the new mums who may not quite recognise themselves yet, be patient with yourself. You may not look or feel exactly the way you did before, and that’s okay. Your body has done something incredible. Give yourself grace and time. Slowly but surely, you’ll find your way back to yourself. And maybe, you’ll discover a new version of you along the way,” she wrote.
Then came the plea that stopped the scroll.
“PS: Please, who has a remedy for Tenosynovitis (mum wrist)? I’ve been in so much pain.”
Tenosynovitis is inflammation of the tissue around a tendon. It often hits the wrist and thumb after repeated lifting, carrying and feeding, which is why new mothers hear the nickname mum wrist.
Her son arrived around her birthday. On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, she skipped the usual glam shoot and posted a photograph from the day he was born. She described him as a tiny boy with the sweetest dimples and admitted the newborn phase is no joke.

Days later she posted labour-room footage and hailed mothers as the true superheroes. The birth carried extra weight because she had spent years dealing with fibroids, including surgery and hospital stays that once kept her away from a normal Christmas. Getting to this chapter, she has said, felt like a testimony.
