UK prosecutors have confirmed that the sexual offence case against Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is still active, despite online claims that he has been freed and that the matter is over.

The Crown Prosecution Service told PUNCH on Saturday that Odinaka is still due before Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
“This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026,” the CPS Press Office said.
That confirmation cuts through rounds of social media talk that the dancer had left prison, that the complainant had withdrawn, or that the case had been settled outside court. Those claims have not been independently confirmed by the UK court. The CPS also did not say whether Odinaka is now on bail or still on remand.
Odinaka faces five sexual offence charges. One count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.He has not been convicted of any offence. The allegations remain before the court and have not been proven. Under UK law he is entitled to the presumption of innocence until a court decides otherwise.
The case followed Odinaka’s trip to the United Kingdom in August for Davido and Friends at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on 14 August. He first appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court before the matter moved to Snaresbrook Crown Court. A plea and trial preparation hearing is the stage at which the court deals with the defendant’s plea and how the case will be prepared for trial.
Poco Lee’s management has previously urged the public to separate online stories from what is actually before the court.
The next official word will come from Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday.
