The family of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has set Thursday, September 10, 2026, as her new burial date in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, weeks after postponing an earlier funeral.
The announcement came in an obituary posted Monday on her official Instagram page and jointly signed by the Osoba and Awonuga families. Her body will leave the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, at 9am. A burial service will hold from 10am to 11am at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo. Interment follows immediately at Iperu Remo Cemetery. The dress code is white.
“Body leaves OSUTH Sagamu by 9am. Burial service Thursday 10th of September, 10:00am–11:00am, Akesan Club opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo. Interment: Iperu Remo Cemetery ground, immediately after burial service,” the obituary stated.
Osoba, also known as Tope Osoba, died in early August 2026 at the age of 40. The first burial date of August 13 was postponed indefinitely so the family could complete arrangements after a candlelight and artists’ night in her honour.

The Yoruba actress and producer spent nearly two decades in Nollywood and appeared in films including Oogun Mi. About two years before her death she publicly sought help for breast cancer treatment and surgery. In August 2025 she announced her recovery and a return to acting, calling the period one of healing, rebranding and empowerment.
The circumstances of her final hours remain disputed. Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has said she died after being taken to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos. Relatives have given a different account.
