Former Big Brother Naija Pepper Dem star Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has reportedly been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force at her Ajah residence in Lagos after she allegedly ignored three invitations.
Media personality Seun Oloketuyi broke the news on Sunday, August 30, 2026. He said operatives of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrimes Centre, NPF-NCCC, picked her up early that morning.
“Just in. Tacha has been arrested today by the NPF. Arrested early this morning after she was sent 3 invitations between May and August by the NPF – NCCC, but she decided not to honour the IV. She was picked up at her Ajah residence early this morning,” he wrote.
The reported arrest comes months after Tacha posted a video in March 2026 accusing a man of rape and warning the public to stay away from him. Online posts later claimed the allegation cost the man brand deals and a job abroad.
A separate post circulating with the arrest news said police invited Tacha three times and that investigators now want her to produce the alleged victims. The Nigeria Police Force has not issued a public statement confirming the arrest, the exact charge, or the status of the investigation.
The development has split social media. Some users argued that anyone who makes a grave accusation must be ready to back it with evidence. Others said the police should first confirm the facts before the story is treated as settled. Public reactions included calls for proof and warnings that false allegations destroy lives.
Tacha rose to fame on BBNaija Season 4 and later built a career as a makeup artist, influencer, and entrepreneur. In 2025 she was recognised by Guinness World Records for makeover feats.
