Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has accused some of her colleagues of wickedness after discovering that others are using the title of her yet-to-be-released movie, Queen of Guns.
In a strongly worded video shared widely on social media, including by YabaLeftOnline, the actress known as the Legit Queen expressed deep frustration over what she described as deliberate attempts to sabotage her project.
“I’m the only Queen of Guns and it is not out yet. It’s not out anywhere yet! My Manchester fans will be the first to watch it before we head to other states and cities,” she declared.
Okorie claimed she has invested more than ₦100 million in the film and that the title is already trademarked. She alleged that people have used her recent promotional pictures to create posters for an older movie shot over ten years ago and uploaded it online under the same name.
“Now, if you search YouTube for ‘Queen of Guns,’ you’ll see some people have used my recent pictures to make a movie poster for a movie shot over ten years ago and titled it Queen of Guns. How can people be this wicked? Is this not witchcraft? Is this not wickedness?” she asked.
The actress also turned her attention to fellow actor Zubby Michael.
“Zubi, even you, you accepted that kind of thing. How dare you? You shot a movie and you have a working title. Why didn’t you use your wack ass working title to push your wack ass room and parlor film?”
Okorie further stated that she deliberately keeps her distance from certain people in the industry.
“If you observe my posts, you’ll see I don’t even like to mingle with some people in the industry because they’re useless set of people who have never carved a niche for themselves. They live their lives on copy cats. What I do now when I see them copy me now is blocking them.”
She claimed that when she speaks up, people label her a troublemaker and that some resort to using government connections against her because they cannot confront her directly.
Queen of Guns, directed by Prince Olisa and produced under her banner, has been in promotion for some time with behind-the-scenes clips circulating. Okorie insisted the project remains unreleased and that her Manchester fans will get the first viewing.
Her fiery outburst has sparked fresh conversations about intellectual property, competition and rivalry within Nollywood.
