Media personality Daddy Freeze has sparked fresh debate after declaring that marriage itself is not a true measure of success, but the ability to afford a grand wedding at a young age, as popular streamer Peller is about to do, certainly is.
The outspoken broadcaster took to Instagram to defend Peller against online trolls who mocked the young content creator as an “Olodo uprising.” Peller, whose real name is Habeeb Hamzat, is set to marry his fiancée Jarvis in a lavish ceremony on August 1, 2026.
In a fiery video, Daddy Freeze mocked those attacking the streamer.
“’Olodo uprising, olodo uprising,’ Peller has gone ahead to get married before you in grand style. You that went to school, you have refused to go ahead with your wedding plans because of the exorbitant cost of dowry items. You have postponed your wedding four times — even up to the extent that they have started sleeping with your wife to be. You who went to school, how far?”
He further highlighted Peller’s financial muscle by noting that the streamer nearly booked a private jet costing N21 million to attend another wedding but could not because none was available.
“Do you have N21 million to book a private jet? Olodo uprising!!! You that went to school, how far?”
When a user questioned whether marriage had now become the measure of success in Nigeria, Daddy Freeze responded directly:
“Marriage in itself is not a measure of success but being able to afford it at a young age like Peller is.”
The comments have ignited mixed reactions online. Supporters praise Freeze for celebrating financial independence and practical success over formal education alone. Critics argue that wealth should not define readiness for marriage and question the sustainability of such lavish displays, especially for someone so young.
Peller’s upcoming wedding has already drawn massive attention, with plans reportedly including a grand event and an extensive honeymoon.
