Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has broken her silence on the emotional reason behind her sudden exit from Nigeria and the movie scene, admitting that motherhood took priority over her thriving career.
In a heartfelt interview with Morayo Afolabi Brown, the screen icon opened up about the tough choice she made years ago to relocate abroad for her children.
“I left this country many years ago because of my children, and I will do it over and over again if I had to,” Bukky Wright declared passionately.
She explained the urgency that pulled her away:
“My children were abroad and you know how it is when you leave male children abroad without their mother. I had to go be with them because they’re my today and tomorrow.”
The mother of two tendered a sincere apology to her loyal fans who felt abandoned when she disappeared from the limelight without warning.
“At this point, I think I have to apologise. I am so sorry I left you guys without letting you know, but Mama duty called,” she said with visible remorse.
