Rising Nollywood actress and former beauty queen Ifeoma Nebe has opened up about the hidden pressures of fame, revealing that popularity often brings overwhelming romantic attention from men that can derail even the most focused entertainers.

In a candid interview, Nebe addressed allegations that some women enter acting as a cover for prostitution, choosing not to judge others while stressing the importance of personal discipline.

“Prostitution is a personal thing, and I cannot generalize people’s morals, but I feel that when you start to get popular, you also tend to get lots of attention from the opposite sex, and lots of them would tend to make one want to lose one’s home training if one is not disciplined,” she warned.

The actress, who has always dreamed of acting, admitted she did not hesitate when the opportunity finally came. Yet she acknowledged that the industry requires strong boundaries to protect one’s values and relationships.

Nebe also shared that she is still waiting for a truly challenging role that will push her acting limits to the maximum.

“I am yet to get a role that will be categorized as my most challenging. I’m patiently waiting for a role that will challenge me,” she said.

To aspiring actors, she offered practical advice:

“Please, as a young girl or man, have some source of income or handiwork so it’s easier to navigate the industry at the early stage when the income is still very small, or when you are still an upcomer.”

Her honest reflections have sparked conversations about the real sacrifices behind the glamour of Nollywood, where sudden fame can bring both opportunities and dangerous distractions. Many young actresses face similar pressures, making Nebe’s warning timely and relatable.
